Historical Sketch
The oldest chapter of Phi Gamma Delta in continuous existence, Lambda Chapter, was founded at Indiana Asbury University in 1856. The chapter occupied various locations from 1856 to 1924. The cornerstone for a new house was laid in 1924. The house was completed and dedicated on June 9, 1925. On June 6, 1964, ground was broken for phase one of a new structure. It was dedicated October 2, 1965. Phi Gamma Delta was originally known as the Secret Ten, later as Philosonian Literary Society and last as Phi Gamma Delta.
