Biographical Sketch
Alvin J. Rockwell was Class of 1929 at DePauw University. Rockwell recieved his J.D. from Harvard University. Rockwell was born in 1908 in Kalamazoo, Michigan and died in 1999 at age 90. While at DePauw, Rockwell was involved with Signma Nu; Blue Key; Debate; Political Science Club; and the President of Student Body. Rockwell's honors from DePauw inlcude Recotr Scholar; Phi Beta Kappa; Old Gold Goblet 1964; Rector Scholar Achiveet Award 1954; and Old Gold Kudos 1959. Rockwell's alumni activities included Trustee (1958-1980); Life Trustee (1980-1999); National Steering Committee of 2nd Design; Alumni Board (pres. 1958-1960); Estate Planning Council (1979). Rockwell's other business affiliations included the San Fransisco Law Library (1975-1981); President of San Franscisco Bar Association Foundation (1976-1980); member of Committee on Uniform State Laws (1962-1969); Fellow of American Bar Foundation; American Law Institute; Harvard Law School Associatoin of Northern California; and World Affairs Council of Northern California.
