Historical Sketch
The Main Street Methodist Church (also called First) began about 1885 as a Methodist Protestant Church. Mount Tabor Methodist Episcopal Church was established about 1860. W. G. Sutton donated the land and the church was ready for occupancy in 1886. Homecomings have been observed every year since 1900.
