Historical Note
Stockwell United Methodist Church was founded in 1829 with Rev. H. Vredenburgh as the first minister. There is a known merger with Monroe and Concord. The first church building was erected in 1840. The present chruch was erected in 1864, with renovations in 1929 and 1955. The church disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church, closing on July 1, 2023.
