Robert E. Williams papers
Collection Statement
This collection consists of memorabilia collected by Williams. Over half of it is photographs and correspondence. Much of the correspondence are letters written to his mother during his time in the service during World War I. Many of the photographs are also from World War I. The collection is arranged in folders by subject. The folders are in alphabetical order in two document cases. Photograph album contains photographs taken in Italy 1917-1919. Scrapbook contains photographs, clippings, correspondence and memorabilia from his DePauw years. Also contains three folders with loose items.

Biographical Sketch
Robert E. Williams graduated from DePauw University in 1916. He did his graduate work at the University of Wisconsin. Williams taught at Knox college in Illinois and at the University of California before serving in World War I ambulance unit. In 1921, he joined the DePauw Speech Department. He taught at DePauw for 46 years.
