Biographical Sketch
Daniel Guernsey was born July 18, 1760 at Watertown Connecticut and died April 28, 1840 at Blue Lick, Ind. A surveyor, mathematician, and Latin scholar, he is said to have introduced the tomato to southern Indiana. His grandson, Seymour Guernsey, was a local ME preacher in the Henryville, Indiana area.
