Biographical Sketch
William Talbott Jones was born July 2, 1886 at Tennyson, Indiana. Jones attended Moores Hill College 1913-1916. He then attended Boston University School of Theology 1916-1918. He received an Honorary Degree: Doctor of Divinity (presented by Evansville College) in 1939 at the age of 43. He served the Indiana Conference of the Methodist Church from 1911 until his retirement in 1958. W.T. Jones and his wife Ota spent their retirement years living at the United Methodist Home in Franklin, Indiana. Jones had been one of the early advocates for the development of this Methodist Home as well as the Rivervale Methodist Camp. He was elected delegate to the General Conferences and Jurisdictional Conferences in 1952 (Oxford, England). He also served as Chaplain during WWI and went "over the hill" on two occasions. He died June 9, 1969 at Franklin, Ind.
