Biographical Sketch
The Writing Workshop was held in January, 1980. Sessions were held in the After Hours Room in the Roy O. West Library.
The purpose of the workshop was to introduce 28 DePauw faculty volunteers to new concepts related to the planning, teaching and evaluating of the "W-course". The "W-course" was a class for freshmen which was based partly on the development of expository writing.
But, according to an article in the February 12, 1980 issue of The DePauw, the workshop was a failure. The program's objectives were not defined, there was a poor choice of consultants, and reaction to the workshop was "almost universally negative".
This collection consists of ten folders of papers from the Writing Workshop. The papers are arranged according to subject and/or presentation.
