Truman George Yuncker papers
Collection Statement
The collection includes several journal reprints written by Truman G. Yuncker, a bound collection of "Selected Papers by Students of T.G. Yuncker" which was presented to Dr. Yuncker on his retirement in June 1956, an obituary of his wife Ethel, and several photographs of Dr. Truman George Yuncker throughout his employment at DePauw University.

Biographical Sketch
Dr. Truman George Yuncker jointed the faculty of DePauw University in 1919. He became head of the botany and bacteriology department in 1921 and held that post until retirement in 1956. He was also curator of DePauw's herbarium. Dr. Yuncker received the bachelor of science degree from Michigan State University in 1914 and then taught at Manual High School, Indianapolis, before returning to the University of Nebraska for his master's degree. After service with the Army Medical Corps in World War I, he earned the Ph.D. degree at the University of Illinois in 1919. He received many honors for his research and study in botany and bacteriology. Dr. Yuncker passed away January 8, 1964 at the age of 72.
