This collection contains a Chronology and Register prepared by Marion Crandall about her husband Dr. Andrew Wallace Crandall from 1894-1963. Also contained are Civil War diaries and letters along with World War II diaries and personal assignments and letters. The collection also contains taped lectures on the Battle of Gettysburg.

Scope and Contents

The exhibit on James Riley Weaver was created in the summer of 2018 to highlight his life including his youth, service in the Union cavalry, post-war career in the foreign service and teaching creer at DePauw University. It was based on his Civil War diary, published by Kent State Uiversity Press in February 2019. The exhibit was available in the Roy O. West Library main floor exhibit cases from September 7, 2018 through July 19, 2019.

Scope and Contents

This collection includes numerous legal, financial and property records. There is also correspondence of John Kiger which includes his time serving as chaplain from 1861-1863 for the Seventh Regiment, Indiana Volunteers, during the Civil War. Other materials include wills, biographical information and a pocket notebook.

Collection Statement This collection consists of two series. The first contains three folders of original letters to Simpson. There are also miscellaneous letters in chronological order, along with addresses, articles, clippings and a handwritten diploma written by Simpson in 1843.
