There are two essays on women's suffrage that have been transcribed by the donor. Also included are a number of issues of the student newspaper, Asbury Review, October 1873 to May 1876.

Joseph Percival Allen IV graduated from Crawfordsville High School, earned a B.A. from DePauw University, MS and a doctorate in Physics from Yale University. He was selected as a scientist-astronaut by NASA in August 1967. This collection consists mainly of clippings from the years of Dr. Allen's rides in outer space.
