Running hall minutes, 1961 - 1969
Collection Statement
The Men’s Hall Association Records document the establishment, growth and development of the organization from the adoption of its first constitution in 1923 to its last alumni newsletters in the 1980s. Included are the many versions of the constitution, minutes of the board meetings, membership, correspondence, committee minutes, handbooks, yearbooks, and the publications The Dells, an MHA newsletter, and The Hallman, an MHA alumni newsletter. The MHA scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings and photographs pertaining to events where MHA members are involved. There are three scrapbooks partially intact. These are filled mostly with signatures and pages that are decorated with formal and informal dance themes. The dates for the scrapbooks are scattered but concentrate around the school year 1950-1951. Photographs and some clippings date back to 1927. Loose photographs and clippings from a disassembled scrapbook have been arranged in a document case. The clippings were photocopied onto acid-free paper. The records are arranged into two series: Series 1, General Records, is arranged alphabetically by subject and chronologically within each heading. Series 2, Scrapbooks, are contained in one flat box and one document case. Nine oversize copies of The Hallman are located in DePauw oversize collections; 16 bound record books have been assigned DPU volume numbers.
