Historical Sketch
Circuit rider preachers held the first services in the Perry County area for United Brethren and Methodist faiths about 1875/1876. These services were combined in the old Ebenezer United Brethren Church. In December 1881 a group of Methodists organized and began a campaign to raise money for a church home. In May 1886 a lot was purchased and in time a church building was erected. Many improvements have been made over the years to this church building. In April 1969 the congregation held their first services in a new church building. Richland United Methodist Church merged in 1973 with Ebenezer United Methodist Church. The church disaffiliated from the United Methodist Church in 2023.
